A girl has been awarded €44,000 after fracturing her foot in a car park.

The Plaintiff, aged fifteen, fractured her foot in a car park after tripping on an open drain shore.

She was described to the court as an accomplished athlete, having played tennis and hockey for her school.

The Plaintiff’s injury was not revealed in an X-ray carried out after the accident occurred, however the Plaintiff was in severe pain for several weeks after the accident until the fracture was revealed.

Judge O’Connor of the Circuit Court approved the €44,000 settlement offered by the Defendant, as compensation for injury suffered.
