| A child whose fingers were crushed in a restaurant door has been awarded €45,000.
The Claimant, aged seven, suffered a crush injury to two of her fingers, when a restaurant door closed on them.
The Claimant was taken to hospital, where she was put under the care of a plastic surgeon to treat the crush injury to her right middle and right ring finger. The Claimant underwent surgery and evidence was given to the court that the Claimant had been left with scarring on her fingers.
The Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) assessed the personal injury claim at €45,000 and Judge O’Connor of the Circuit Court approved the assessment by PIAB.
